Steele Hotels is looking for an experienced Night Shift Supervisor at our JAG Hotel in St. John’s, NL.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:
· Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a supervisory role
· Must have experience in handling cash and problem-solving financial errors
· Must have business management skills and be proficient in MS Excel
· Hotel experience is an asset
· Must be personable and provide superior quality customer service
· Must have excellent communication and leadership skills, particularly resolving guest complaints or issues that may require security’s assistance
· Must have a calm presence and handle difficult situations with tact and ease
· Ensure maximum productivity of staff working overnight
· Provide example-based leadership while fostering a compassionate and collaborative work environment

Responsibilities:
· Responsible for managing the hotel’s operation and staffing during night shift hours
· Ensure that all guest areas and public areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards
· Address any guest concerns or requests in a timely and professional manner
· Monitor staff performance and help to ensure smooth shift transitions at the start and end of night shifts
· Co-ordinate with the Food & Beverage Outlet Supervisor to ensure all outlets are closed down, locked and clean for morning openings
· Ensure meeting rooms are set up and ready for next day conferences and events
· Co-ordinate with the Security Supervisor to ensure coverage for the hotel, and events, as needed
· Co-ordinate with the Banquet Captain to oversee overnight banquet setups, as needed
· Co-ordinate with the Housekeeping Manager to ensure overall building cleanliness and staffing levels for overnight shifts
· Co-ordinate with the Front Desk Manager for any items needing to be completed overnight from a guest services perspective
· Perform front desk duties when required
· Confirm all outlets and guest services desk are balanced and the day shift is closed properly
· Perform night audit when required
· Send nightly financial reports to the General Manager and Head Office
· Responsible for cash and accounting processes such as monitoring the float on the overnight shift
· Serve as the emergency contact for all building operations during the night shift
· Perform other duties as assigned and assist in other areas, particularly during major events or when additional support is needed
