This role is critical in delivering safe, efficient, and compliant traffic control services while supporting field teams and stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in Traffic Management or Field Supervision within civil infrastructure or major projects.
  • Accredited Traffic Management Designer with ability to develop and review TGSs.
  • Strong knowledge of Austroads, QMUTCD, and project compliance requirements.
  • Proficient with Assignar or similar workforce management systems.

  • Ability to conduct and document incident reports and site audits thoroughly.
  • Availability to work full-time night shifts.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct nightly pre-start meetings with crews to ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Manage last-minute cancellations and reassign staff to meet project demands.
  • Attend nightly project briefings with the head contractor and key stakeholders to plan and coordinate upcoming works.
  • Conduct detailed site inspections to verify work areas meet all compliance requirements under Austroads and QMUTCD standards.
  • Ensure Traffic Controllers (TCs) are in correct PPE, fit for work, and adequately briefed.
  • Organize nightly allocations for works and maintain up-to-date workforce spreadsheets.
  • Complete site audits and detailed incident reports, managing incident closeouts with workers.
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of SWMS and TRA documentation across all teams.
  • Conduct weekly reviews of KPI Ute Driver documentation and address non-compliance directly with drivers.
  • Address worker misconduct appropriately and record actions in Assignar journals.
  • Verify that all compliance documentation (PPE, vehicles, signage, TMP) is correctly submitted via Assignar.
  • Mentor field staff through education and performance reviews (minimum 2 reviews per week).
  • Provide nightly operational reports and handovers to management.
  • Design Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGSs) and manage permit applications to support upcoming works.
  • Collaborate with Traffic Management Designers (TMDs) to ensure correct TGSs and permits are delivered to crews nightly.
