Position Summary: The Night Shipping Clerk at the company is responsible for facilitating smooth and efficient operations during the night shift in the shipping department. They play a critical role in coordinating and overseeing the loading and unloading of goods, verifying inventory accuracy, and ensuring timely and accurate shipments. The Night Shipping Clerk must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

ABOUT YOU:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a shipping or warehouse environment, preferably in the food distribution industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in verifying and documenting shipments.
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, including familiarity with bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping labels.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management systems or software, and the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and coordinate shipping activities.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and practices in a warehouse or shipping environment.
  • Availability to work night shifts and weekends as required by the company’s operational needs.

  • Collaborate with warehouse staff, drivers, and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Utilize computer systems or software to track shipments, update inventory records, and generate reports as required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations during the shipping and receiving processes.
