Job Details Job Location: Keany Charlotte - Charlotte , NC 28273 Job Purpose/Objective The Shipping Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating outbound shipping activities within a high-volume cross-dock warehouse environment. This role ensures that orders are accurately sorted, staged, and shipped according to schedule while maintaining a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and team productivity. The Shipping lead serves as the primary point of contact for shipping dock staff and plays a key role in ensuring timely movement of orders throughout the facility. The Shipping Lead also uses the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track progress and ensure shift tasks are completed effectively. Essential Job Functions: · Motivates and directs order selectors, loaders, and sorters. Organize and oversee workflow for shift employees. Assign and monitor tasks using computers and scanners. Promote and enforce safe work practices. Enforce company policies and procedures. Maintain and provide accurate warehouse documentation. Meet productivity and output standards for the assigned shift. Ensure warehouse cleanliness and organization. Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues as needed. Ensure the timely completion of routes. Oversee accurate handling of intercompany transfers. Additional Job Functions Review and assess the performance of subordinates. Act as liaison between departments, including Shipping, Receiving, Purchasing, Sales, Maintenance, Dispatch, and Transportation. Assist with planning and implementation of process improvements and facility expansions. Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of the company. Working Conditions: · Work is performed in a refrigerated warehouse (cold, wet, and noisy). · Frequent exposure to temperatures between 34°F to 50°F. . Must be able to work 8–12-hour shifts, 5 to 6 days per week, including weekends and holidays as scheduled. · Must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, lift up to 100 lbs., and operate heavy equipment regularly. Physical Demands: Must be able to move and lift boxes weighing up to 100 lbs. Must be able to operate and inspect powered equipment using controls. Must be able to see distance, color, peripheral, depth, and adjust focus. Must be able to stand and walk for 90% of the shift. Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. and regularly lift 50–60 lbs. Repeated stooping and bending required. Qualifications High School Diploma. 3–5 years of experience in shipping and warehousing and at least 2 years of supervisory experience. Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) or similar inventory tracking tools. Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, sanitation, USDA/FDA guidelines and food safety protocols. Proficient in operating stand-up and reach forklifts, and electric pallet jacks. Flexibility in adjusting to shifting work priorities and assignments. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business or Logistics. 5 years of experience managing produce warehousing and shipping operations across multiple shifts. Knowledge of change management, SQF programs, and warehouse software systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in multiple languages (e.g., English, Spanish). Strong ability to bring ideas from conception to execution.
