REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 3 years’ leadership experience in a professional kitchen
  • Food Safe Level 1
  • First Aid Level 1, preferred but not mandatory
  • Proficient working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Optimum is an asset

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As our Night Sous Chef, you’ll be at the heart of the action, driving kitchen operations and supporting the Head Chef to deliver exceptional food quality and unforgettable guest experiences. You’ll have the autonomy to make key decisions that impact the success of the kitchen, from food quality to profitability. You’ll also play a key role in staffing, training, and developing our talented kitchen team.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead by example, ensuring kitchen routines are followed and all checklists are completed on time.
  • Assist the Head Chef with managing profit reports, inventory, and waste control to ensure the kitchen operates at peak efficiency.
  • Collaborate on recruitment and training, from interviews to onboarding and continuous development.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure a safe, clean, and compliant kitchen environment.
  • Help manage food costs through portion control and weekly inventory checks.
  • Track and follow up on Quality Service Audits (QSAs), providing ongoing training to maintain high standards.
  • Oversee kitchenware, disposables, and staff schedules, ensuring efficient labor costs.
  • Maintain exceptional food quality and presentation, adhering to organization standards.
