WAKING NYOUTH SUPPORT WORKER

Location: Wisbech, Cambridgeshire
Karoo Group has a fantastic opportunity for a Waking Night Youth Support Worker who will be an advocate for the young person, maximising their choices, rights and decision making and who wants to make a difference in the lives of young people within our newly opened solo provision located in the Cambridgeshire countryside.

DUTIES INCLUDE;

  • To take on the role of a corporate parent, providing our young people with love and direction.
  • The ability to connect with and build meaningful relationships with children and young people who have had complex early lives working within the Trauma Informed model.
  • Ensuring the protection and safeguarding of young people in our care.
  • Embedding our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), building trust and respect with the young person.
  • Supporting our young people with complex needs.
  • To take immediate action when the welfare or safety of young people is at risk.
  • To ensure that the wishes, thoughts and feelings of our young people are advocated.
  • Delivery of high-quality support and guidance in order to promote the best outcomes possible for all our young people.
  • To support the Residential Home Manager to exceed expectations at Inspection and Regulation 44 visits in terms of delivering positive outcomes for young people.
  • To be flexible and willing to do activities with the children and young people along with attending all necessary appointments.
  • Managing the complex behaviours of our young people to encourage them to engage in a positive and structured routine, including supporting in crisis intervention.
  • Providing care and support to the children and young people to encompass all physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual and social needs of our children and young people.
  • Playfulness, Love, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy (PLACE): Positive Behaviour Support (PBS): Embed PLACE and PBS practices, creating an environment that supports the young person’s development while promoting positive outcomes.
  • Other duties commensurate with the level and nature of the post.
