We are looking for an HGV Class 1 driver to join our company to carry out a night trunking duties. Drivers will be expected to to attend our Bideford site to carry out a night trunk in an artic vehicle to the pallet hub in the midlands, unload reload and return to base.
Evans Transport is part of the ET Holdings group. The company has been running over 50 years and is still very much a family company with 3 generations of Evans family actively involved in the business. The business is ran from various depots around the country and comprises of over 250 trucks and trailers

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS FOR NIGHT TRUNK DRIVER

Key Skill Requirements

  • Full driving licence with C+E vocation
  • In date driver CPC and digital tachograph
  • Posses good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Have a reason able level of fitness
  • Presentable, good attitude and polite.
  • Counterbalance forklift experience beneficial but not essential
  • LST experience beneficial but not essential

Key Task Requirements

  • Ensure the most direct truck friendly route is taken
  • Ensure the vehicle is safe and fit to be on the road by carrying out adequate daily checks.
  • Work within the tachograph and working time directive laws
  • Meet our connection times for loading and unloading at the pallet hub
  • Able to work on own initiative and part of a team
  • Report any issues effectively and promptly to management
  • Be able to work to a productive nature
