POSITION SUMMARY:

The Spear Group has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Pharma / BioPharma Project Manager / Engineer to lead multiple projects for our top-tier pharma client in the Highland Park / New Brunswick, NJ area. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering excellence in life sciences/biopharma/pharma project completion on the owner’s/client side supporting areas like clean utilities, lab spaces, cGMP pharma manufacturing spaces, offices and clean rooms. Experience with capital project scope, risk, technical feasibility, documentation, budget, construction management, and multi project management is required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Min 5 years’ experience running pharma / biopharma capital projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Lab and cleanroom project experience along with clean utilities experience is preferred.
  • Prior pharma/biopharma capital project management experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Experience managing the pillars of capital project management: scope, time, cost, quality, and risk

Responsibilities
  • Pharmaceutical cGMP, lab, clean room & office capital project renovation & new construction experience
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress (stage gate reporting).
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project.
  • Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels.
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make project constraints based on financial analysis.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members.
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs.
  • Oversee vendors and contractors as an owner’s representative.
