Description Grey Street Consulting, LLC (Grey Street), a leading small business provider of operational support services to Federal civilian and defense agencies, is seeking to hire a Budget Assistant to support our prospective client within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Southeast Regional Office (SERO). NOAA NMFS SERO is located in St. Petersburg, FL, and this position is to be performed onsite full-time. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Budget Assistance. The Contractor shall: Provide direct assistance to the Administrative Officer, Budget Analyst, and other budget team members by providing administrative and budget monitoring, tracking and reporting services. Monitor and analyze budget information, enter data, perform budget queries, and download reports using BAS and related systems. Input budgetary and accounting data from source documents into NOAA’s budget system. Collect, input, and analyze data from cross-automated financial applications and software applications using electronic spreadsheets or databases. Assist with the collection and evaluation of data needed for the formulation and presentation of budget projections. Monitor and track commitments, obligations, and expenditures of funds for FMC programs for the preparation of budget reports and for decision making purposes. Assist with analysis of data from expenditures and cost records; assist with reconciling budget execution information with accounting data; assist with resolving project cost variances; and assist with preparing documents for cost adjustments. Assist with continuous monitoring and reporting of variances between allocations and obligations. Review documents containing financial data for proper accounting classification and authorizations. Correct and resolve any discrepancies identified within financial data records. Review and analyze changes in budget policies and generate management and reporting requirements. Develop reports and tracking systems for monitoring expenditures and appropriated funding. Requirements Job Requirements and Experience Minimum education requirement is to have a high school diploma. Work products are accurate and complete. Excellent verbal/written communications that demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and professionalism. Experienced in budget support and analysis demonstrate a high level of expertise. Experienced in basic analysis of budget data and performing budget data queries. Experienced in developing budget reports and using budget tracking systems for monitoring expenditures. Experienced in monitoring and analyzing budget data, performing budget queries, and downloading reports using financial system applications. ADA Requirements Operate a PC and phone in an office environment. Work in a primarily sedentary position. Perform some bending, light lifting, and carrying of equipment may be required. Any additional office equipment that is required by the position.
