About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive NOC Engineer to ensure the health, performance, and availability of client systems. This role involves real-time monitoring of critical infrastructure, responding to alerts, and resolving incidents across networks, servers, cloud platforms, and other core environments. Purpose of the Role The purpose of the NOC Engineer role is to keep client systems stable, secure, and optimized. By proactively monitoring environments and resolving issues before they impact business operations, the NOC Engineer ensures clients can rely on Nexus IT as a trusted technology partner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Monitor performance across client environments, detecting and resolving outages or performance issues. Respond promptly to alerts and incidents, minimizing downtime and client disruption. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless resolution of issues within SLAs. Perform routine system maintenance, health checks, updates, and security measures. Support implementation of backup solutions, patching, and network security practices. Develop and refine automation processes to improve NOC efficiency and reporting. Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and SOPs to enhance team knowledge and consistency. Track and analyze service metrics (SLA, CSAT, NPS) to improve client outcomes. Pursue ongoing training to strengthen technical skills and adopt industry best practices. Requirements Experience and Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field preferred but not required. 3+ years of experience in IT support or network management. At least three of the following certifications (or equivalent certifications/skills) are required: A+, Server+, NET+, Security+, Linux+. Strong familiarity with M365 administration, virtualization technologies, and network troubleshooting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with clients. Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for improving system monitoring and operational efficiency is a plus.
