SUMMARY: The Shag Driver will drive shag truck; pull and back 48 and 53-foot trailers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list is not intended to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned. * Comply with Federal, State, County, City, OSHA and Company rules and regulations. * Safely operate shag truck on the company property. * Maintain required safety and ergonomic processes to insure a safe working environment and meet company goal of an injury free workplace. * Drive shag truck; pull and back trailers. Must be able to spot the correct trailers in the correct docks. * Use of electronic equipment to perform tasks and communicate with Logistics Manager. * Physically wash out trailers as needed * Maintain a wash and shag report. * Set reefer units at proper temperatures. * Must be able to follow directions * Maintain truck cleanliness and track truck maintenance as needed. * Understand and perform inspections of equipment as required by USDOT rules and regulations. * Monitor truck parking lot * Communicate issues with vendor trailers that are not working correctly. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties of this job. Exposed to outside weather and temperatures. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Multiple actions in and out of truck to hook up and unhook trailers. Steps up and down from truck cab.
