Description
SUMMARY:  The National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) seeks a seasoned honors professional to serve as the Non-Conference Programming Coordinator. This stipend-based role is designed for a current Honors administrator with familiarity with the honors community and a strong interest in professional development, teaching and learning, and year-round member engagement. Working closely with the Non-Conference Programming Committee, this individual will construct the annual non-conference programming matrix, identify and prioritize new programming opportunities, and present a cohesive programming lineup for committee review and approval. This role is intended to supplement and expand NCHC’s non-conference programming portfolio by developing additional, mission-centered programs beyond those already offered by committees or organically submitted by members. In partnership with the committee, the coordinator will ask and answer the strategic questions, “What is missing? Who are we not serving? What professional skill sets are not being supported?” This position serves as a connective hub between non-conference programming and the Professional Development and Teaching and Learning Committees. This position will seek to amplify the excellent outputs of these committees by identifying collaboration opportunities across programs, contributing to the development of thematic tracks for credentialing purposes, and working with the professional staff on programmatic sponsorship opportunities.  ABOUT NCHC:  The National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) focuses on supporting honors education among colleges and universities. It serves as a professional association for honors programs and colleges and students, providing resources, support, and networking opportunities for educators involved in honors education. Engagement, Liaison, and Outreach * Conduct outreach to potential program facilitators, committee leaders, professional networks, and relevant higher education communities. * Serve as a liaison to committees and stakeholders proposing programming to offer opportunities for collaboration.  * Support the collection of programmatic feedback from members to offer facilitators enhanced insights into programmatic success.  Collaboration and Credentialing Alignment * Coordinate with the Professional Development and Teaching and Learning Committees to align offerings with pedagogical and upskilling priorities. * Identify opportunities for cross-program collaboration, thematic clusters, and the development of credentialed learning tracks. Evaluation and Reporting * Conduct an annual survey of membership to determine programmatic interests among the community of honors.  * Annually review participation, outcomes, and demand for non-conference programs. * Provide an annual report assessing what programming succeeded, what is missing, and what new opportunities exist. * Make recommendations tied to the strategic plan and member value propositions. Scheduling and Programming Execution * Collaborate with the professional staff and facilitators on the creation of a programming calendar immediately after annual operating budget approval.  * Collaborate with the professional staff, as needed, to provide programming logistics information to secure proper space for in-person programming.  Sponsorship and Revenue Strategy * Explore funding models for non-conference programs, including sponsored programming. * Collaborate with facilitators to craft programmatic narratives that can be utilized in sponsorship discussions.  QUALIFICATIONS:  * Current or recent services as an honors administrator  * Demonstrated knowledge of honors education and professional development needs in higher education * Experience planning, coordinating, or facilitating academic or professional development programming * Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with committees and NCHC professional staff * Master’s Degree (MA/MS) from a four-year college or university
