OPPORTUNITY

The Department of Professional Health Education (PHE) is seeking instructors experienced in teaching Basic Life Support including the following topics:

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for victims of all ages;
  • Responding quickly to a variety of emergencies, including cardiac arrest, anaphylaxis, drowning, heart attack, stroke, and opioid associated emergencies; and
  • Delivering these skills as a single rescuer and as a member of a multi-rescuer team.

SKILLS

You will have:

  • Demonstrate strong ethical leadership;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Familiarity with using technology, including using the Heart and Stroke portal; and
  • Familiarity with life support equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current Heart and Stroke Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor certification.
  • Core Instructor Training Certificate.
  • Previous experience teaching adult students.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
