Non-Destructive Test Quality Test Specialist Company: The Boeing Company Position Overview: Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an Experienced Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Quality Specialist to support the 787 Quality Team in North Charleston, South Carolina. Position Responsibilities: Performs setup for specialized non-destructive test or measurement equipment Performs ultrasonic A-scan and C-scans of 787 Composite Fuselage and supporting parts, assemblies and structure Documents, analyzes and communicates results and assists with corrective action recommendations Utilizes technical competencies to provide feedback on adverse trends Responsible for non-destructive testing and acceptance of repairs to company products Conducts on-the-job training (OJT) Adheres to Boeing policies, processes and major inspection methods procedures Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Current or prior NAS410 or equivalent certified Level 2 in Ultrasonic Testing; must have documented evidence available for Boeing Level 3 review 3+ years of experience in NDI (non-destructive inspection) or NDT (non-destructive test) 3+ years of experience inspecting parts, components, assemblies, or units Willing to work Variable Shifts, including weekend overtime rotations and occasional Shift overtime Ability to pass near vision and color perception exams Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience analyzing & interpreting Ultrasonic C-scans. Experience running automated inspection equipment. Certification in any other NDT method (ET, PT, MT, RT); must have documented evidence available for Boeing Level 3 review Able to work from heights up to 55 feet Experience inspecting composite material 3+ years of experience writing NDT procedures and techniques Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies Drug Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.
