Description
NON DOT Yard Jockey/MHE 2 sitdown forklift: moving trailers in the yard and loading unloading trucks in the warehouse 1st shift: Tuesday-Friday $23.50/hour   Description of the Position: Drives gasoline or diesel-powered tractors to transport and spot trailers at appropriate loading docks and/or staging areas.  Operates gasoline-, liquefied gas-, or electric-powered industrial equipment equipped with lifting devices, such as sit-down, stand-up, clamp or other elevating equipment to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in distribution center or storage yard. Responsibilities: • Performs trailer movements by attaching drive unit to trailers to move to and from dock doors for loading and unloading. • Checks trailer lights and tires and inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submit reports indicating truck condition. • Monitors truck refrigeration units and may check temperature. • Maintains an orderly lot and paperwork for trailer locations by performing daily yard checks. • Checks empty trailers to ensure cleanliness. • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Write routine reports and correspondence. • Adhere to all safety guidelines and rules. • Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed. • Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate. * Load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials using powered industrial equipment. Maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. On a daily basis, inspect assigned equipment. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards. * Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations. Efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate areas. * Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring the exact number and types of products are loaded and shipped. * Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars, trailers, or containers. * Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances. * Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained. Assist in physical inventories. Ensure proper stock rotation. * Follow customer requirements and/or other instructions to ensure accuracy: load count, stability of product, and that all products are loaded and unloaded safely. * Coordinate as necessary with all other departments/functions, especially Customer Service, Transportation and Maintenance. * Perform good housekeeping practices, clean as you go process. * Conduct operations and equipment in a manner that promotes safety and report unsafe conditions that can’t be self-corrected to the leadership team. * Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed. * Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate. * Other duties as assigned. #IND123 *   Qualifications YJ: High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of experience and education. • 1-year verifiable experience. • Must be able to operate a yard truck safely. Forklift experience necessary. Class A CDL license may be required.   MHE: * High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Must be able to successfully complete post-hire assessments. * Must be able to obtain and maintain equipment certifications (e.g. OSHA, company, etc.). * Must be able to wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the work environment (e.g. protective footwear, protective eyewear, gloves, etc.) in accordance with safety policies.
