This position plays a pivotal role in connecting patients with vital medical services.This position ensures residents receive all appropriate assistance during outings. Driver fulfills all operational tasks involving driving. A typical day will include: Safely transporting residents from community to medical appointments On arrival at medical facilities, assists residents in exiting the vehicle and reaching the proper offices or treatment areas Managing own schedule to to ensure seamless care when coordinating appointments Expertly securing passengers, wheelchairs and other necessary mobile devices inside the vehicle Engaging in effective communication with residents, understanding their unique needs and concerns Qualifications Qualified applicants are required to possess a minimum 6 months of experience as a bus/van driver. Must possess a valid and current driver's license for vehicle class driven at time of hire. Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required or must be willing and able to become CPR and First Aid certified. High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Must possess and maintain a clean DMV driving record. Knowledge of the surrounding neighborhood area. Excellent communication skills, patience and the ability to deal with stress and the needs of older adults. Ability to use a client and customer- focused approach to problem solving and goal setting. Must be sensitive to the needs of older adults. The application window is anticipated to close within 30 days of the date of the posting. Pay Range USD $24.17 - USD $29.60 /Hr.
