OVERVIEW

The Brickers Foundation is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented volunteer Non-Profit Compliance Officer to support our internal operations. The Compliance Officer will work closely with the Founding Director to ensure that the organization adheres to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including those critical to maintaining our 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, public trust, and funding eligibility.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of governance, compliance standards, risk management, and auditing practices.
  • Analytical Skills
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Experience in non-profit compliance is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
Responsibilities
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including IRS requirements for 501(c)(3) organizations, charitable solicitation laws, and relevant employment laws.
  • Create, implement, and maintain internal compliance policies and procedures that reflect legal standards and nonprofit best practices.
  • Conduct periodic audits and reviews of internal operations, financials, and record-keeping systems to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with leadership to foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and ethical practice throughout the organization.
  • Stay informed of changes in nonprofit regulations, reporting requirements, and governance trends to ensure timely updates to internal practices.
