The Patty Baker Humane Society Naples (PBHSN) Veterinary Clinic is seeking candidates for the position of full time Veterinary Technician. We seek a caring, enthusiastic, skilled technician to join our team and make a difference in the lives of companion animals. This is a full time position, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday. No weekends. Veterinary Technicians assist with: Examinations of client companion animals, and/or shelter residents. Surgery & dentals - anesthesia, pre-op and post-op care. Imaging, such as radiographs and ultrasound. Laboratory diagnostics. Sterilizing instruments and equipment. Feeding & notation of dietary and excretory habits of in-clinic animal patients. Kennel cleaning and feeding of in-clinic patients. Assist on the Patty & Jay Baker Mobile Veterinary Clinic Knowledge, skills, and abilities At least 1 year employment as a veterinary technician or 2 years' experience as a veterinary assistant in either a clinic and/or shelter setting is required. An Associate's Degree from an accredited vet tech program may be substituted for paid experience. Ability to take accurate histories Ability to perform injections and venipuncture Ability to restrain animals safely in a low-stress manner Basic familiarity with commonly used veterinary instruments and equipment Able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted Able to work well within a team Able to understand and follow directions Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks Able to maintain a positive demeanor in a fast-paced environment Experience with Pulse practice management software and Petpoint Health shelter management software preferred but not required. English fluency is required. Ability to speak Spanish or Haitian Creole in addition to English is preferred. Compensation Starting at $19.00. Additional compensation negotiable for a CVT or highly experienced veterinary nurse or veterinary technician.
