Description

Responsibilities of Nonwovens Process Engineer: We are seeking a Process Engineer to oversee safety, quality, productivity, procedures, training, maintenance, Gemba, continuous improvement, and sustainability at our West Columbia, SC facility. This includes managing processes such as V-lapping, carding, laminating, die cut, and thermoforming of non-wovens.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • BS or MS in Engineering preferred
  • 2-5 years of non-woven manufacturing experience, including carding fibers
  • Strong communication and project management skills
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of materials, mechanical, and electrical systems
  • Willingness to travel as require
Responsibilities

KEY DUTIES OF THE ROLE:

  • Ensure safe storage, handling, processing, and disposal of raw materials and equipment in manufacturing areas.
  • Collaborate with R&D and PD teams on product/process development and scaling up material development.
  • Prepare Process Flow Segment Maps and PFMEAs for new parts.
  • Lead process launches and manage processing equipment for optimum efficiency.
  • Collaborate with various teams to troubleshoot and improve material quality and process outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain process parameters for consistent quality products.
  • Ensure safety checklists are in place for all manufacturing processes.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:
