The North America Senior Business Traveler Tax Analyst will be involved in all North America Payroll Tax Operational activities and will be the lead on the preparation and review of monthly Business Traveler tax processes. The Senior Business Traveler Tax Analyst must be able to work independently, as well as in a collaborative team environment. May assist in leading specialized assignments and/or projects. Senior Business Traveler Tax Analyst must ensure that all deliverables meet or exceed individual objectives, carry out to Payroll goals, and align with the Global Service Strategies reporting into Tampa Capability Center.

KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation
  • Strong working knowledge of ADP Tax Reconciliations and Year End Processes
  • Strong understanding of North America Federal, State and Local Quarterly Tax Processes
  • Solid knowledge of North America Payroll Tax laws.

RELATED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with North America Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Tax reconciliations required
  • Experience with Mergers & Acquisition activities, including UI account management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required. Attention to detail a must
  • A sense of urgency in solving customer requests to ensure timely resolution and an ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality and sensitivity to compliance-related matters
  • Ability to identify problems and recommend a course of action
  • Experience working on Payroll related projects
  • Able to process complex information and identify solutions that meet both internal and business partner requirements
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and fluid situations, demonstrating a pragmatic approach
  • Proficient social skills and the ability to successfully work with internal partners and colleagues to supply ideas, find opportunities, and give to positive outcomes
  • Knowledge of standard business practices and project management concepts
  • Ability to excel in a team based environment, demonstrating customer service and collaboration
  • Demonstrate ability to disseminate knowledge and techniques
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred
  • Experience with an ERP system required (Payroll modules highly preferred)
  • Experience with Payroll applications and service providers desirable
  • Experience with travel & expense programs preferred
  • Very strong (Intermediate & Above) Excel, Access, and MS Project skills is required
  • This role will deal with confidential, Payroll related data and must assure conformity with policies, procedures, and regulations of J&J and external governments and agencies
  • Advanced English level required
  • Hybrid model with weekly in office
  • Travel up to 5%

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage inbound process of North America business traveler tax reporting
  • Provide backup to Sr Tax Analyst for commuter tax reporting
  • Lead third party vendor activities associated with business travelers
  • Serve as key liaison with corporate tax leadership on business traveler program
  • Support Flexible Work Arrangement activities with payroll
  • Provide Tax Analyst Day-to-Day support as needed
  • Complete and/or review operational reconciliations, audit reports, and resolve variances
  • Lead with the design and document management for Payroll Tax procedures (i.e. Work Instructions, SOP’s, FAQ’s, QRG’s) to ensure complete, accurate, and up-to-date depiction of processes
  • Assist the Payroll Tax Manager and Team with special projects as needed
  • Review, follow, and provide input to Payroll Team objectives
  • Provide ideas, solutions, and tools to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Payroll Tax and Finance processes; supporting a lean process approach
  • Communicate regularly with Americas Payroll Tax/Finance Management and team members regarding task and/or project status updates and opportunities to improve service levels or processes
  • Raise issues as appropriate to ensure quality service levels
  • Participate in and support departmental initiatives
