We are actively seeking a dynamic Product Conformance - North America Technical Certification Engineer to join our Product Conformance team. The Technical Certification Engineer is responsible for the certification of engines and equipment within the regional market. Scope will include working closely with the product platforms, development, and quality to define requirements through understanding and interpreting regulations and communicating in terms of functional requirements.  The objective is to ensure that the functional groups meet the requirements to support the certification and compliance of engines and equipment. The main areas of responsibility are Non-Road Compression Ignition Engine Certification and Emissions Testing development support. Internal candidates MUST notify their HR Department before applying. The position will be temporarily located in our Westchester, IL office until our new Burr Ridge, Illinois testing lab facility is ready. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Executive: * Collaborate with platforms and engineering in the development of FPT's strategic objectives in terms of certification. * Support the implementation of systems, policies, and processes that promote organizational excellence and facilitate change through clear and actionable steps. * Maintain relationship with Authorities * Ensure the timely availability of certificates Certification: * Identify program development needs and implement plans and goals for the Certification Department, collaborating with the other departments. * Ensure that certification programs operate in line with organizational goals. * Conduct meetings related to certification issues with relevant groups (internal or external) to ensure clear, timely and open communication and effective problem solving. * Maintain a working understanding of EPA/CARB/ECCC regulations, as well as FPT's internal policies and procedures. * Preparation and submission of certification documents required by regulatory bodies: * Collaborate closely with product platforms and product development to define requirements through understanding and interpreting regulations and communicating in terms of functional requirements. * Support the development and maintenance of engine certification and compliance requirements, processes, and procedures. * Participate with functional groups and engineers to maintain application and certification requirements in support of product launch milestones. * Monitor and document regulatory changes by federal, state, and local agencies and review functional requirements that affect current and future product lines. * Collect all the required information and documents from product platforms and product development and prepare relevant documents for submission. * Submit all relevant documents for approval through the system and according to the process in force for each Authority * Follow up with the Authorities to obtain certification Other Important Responsibilities: * Cooperate with the Quality/Legal department if requested * Collaborate with the NA and global Technical Compliance Team, carrying out activities necessary to address non-conformities. * Support relations and negotiation with Certification Authorities in case of issues. * Participate in accreditation-related audits and activities as needed (site visits, witness checks, etc.). * Ensure that the customer-centric approach to certification is prioritized, fostered, and maintained. The preferred candidate will have: * Bachelor’s degree in a related field. * Minimum three years of relevant professional experience in North American emissions certification.  * Project management skills.  * Comfortable in building collective buy-in, complex project management, decision making, change management practices, and cooperating with people from multiple departments. * Experience within an engineering test environment. * Function supervisory experience, project management skills, and budgeting contribution.  * Strong knowledge of emissions standards, certification procedures, and regulatory compliance. * Commitment to collaboration, integrity, and transparency and building and supporting diverse and inclusive work environments.  * Ability to manage multiple priorities, perform within deadlines, and work under pressure. * Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
