As a result of continued growth in our Not-for-Profit practice, KLR is seeking a Not for Profit (NFP) Tax Manager to join our team in either our Boston or Providence office on a hybrid basis. This individual will serve as a key member of our exempt organizations tax practice, delivering high-quality tax compliance and advisory services to mission-driven clients.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS Degree in Accounting or related field required
  • Master’s degree in Taxation or related discipline preferred
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent certification is required
  • Minimum of 6 years of federal tax experience with exempt organizations; public accounting experience preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in preparing and reviewing Forms 990, 990-PF, and 990-T.
  • Strong understanding of tax law applicable to Section 501(c) organizations.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills; crucial for addressing complex issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, across all levels of an organization, internally and externally.
  • Experience in resolving IRS and state notices and inquiries.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven leadership, supervisory, and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    This is a full-time position with standard hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours, including some evenings and weekends, will be required during peak busy seasons.
