Position Overview Department: Cardiology , EP Schedule: Weekdays Monday - Friday, onsite in hospital and outpatient clinic Job Duties: Supporting EP physician, Cardiocascular experience / EP experience preferred, but not required Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham Benefits for eligible positions only include: generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more What You Will Do Responsibilities: Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care. Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources. Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources. Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy. What You Will Need Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Advanced Life Support certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) may be accepted in lieu of BLS Provider required. Certified Advanced Practice Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred. Education: Master's degree of Nursing required. Responsibilities

The Nurse Practitioner will support the EP physician by obtaining patient history, performing assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, and providing direct treatment and management of health conditions. Responsibilities also include counseling and educating patients and their families regarding preventative health and treatment options.
