Work Shift Wellstar Medical Group has a full-time NP/PA opening with our Emergency Medicine Department, based in Augusta, GA and will work with our critical care team at Wellstar Hospital only. Full-time is 17 shifts monthly. The daily schedule will vary Sun-Sat including holidays. Shifts rotate between 7a-4p, 8a-5p and 4p-1a daily. The APP is expected to be available to work all days of the week and varying shift schedules. The Emergency Department APP provides direct patient care in the emergency room including initial patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and stabilization of acutely ill or injured patients, while collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure timely and appropriate care delivery. Interpret diagnostic tests, formulate differential diagnoses, and initiate appropriate treatment plans for a wide range of medical emergencies like trauma, cardiac events, and respiratory distress. Perform minor surgical procedures like laceration repair, wound care, and administer medications including IVs, pain management, and emergency medications. Effectively communicate with attending physicians, nurses, ancillary staff, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated patient care. Provide clear instructions to patients regarding follow-up care and discharge planning, addressing any concerns or questions. Georgia licensed APP, NP or PA required.
