Job Summary: Erlanger Medical Center is seeking an NP/PA to join our Urogynecology team. The provider will work in an outpatient setting, providing specialized care for women with pelvic floor disorders. The provider will see patients for initial urogynecology evaluations, follow-up visits, and referrals from other providers. Conditions commonly managed include urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, fecal incontinence, overactive bladder, and other pelvic health concerns. The NP/PA will collaborate closely with fellowship-trained urogynecologists and OB/GYN specialists to deliver both surgical and non-surgical treatment options. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, developing individualized care plans, assisting with in-office procedures, and educating patients about their conditions and treatment options. The provider will also contribute to clinical decision-making, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program and hold current licensure in the state of Tennessee. Prior experience in women’s health, pelvic medicine, or surgical specialties is preferred. Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team are essential. This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices' patient population. Participates in the practices' quality improvement process and performance evaluation. Required Education: Master's of Science degree in Nursing (MSN)- certification in family nurse practitioner OR Graduate of Masters degree Physician Assistant program Experience Preferred: Minimum of 1 years' experience in women's health care setting. Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills; knowledge of organizational functions, policies and regulations; knowledge of current trends and new developments; knowledge of principles and practices of nursing, applicable to those areas requiring special education. Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration Required: Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee Licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in the state of Tennessee National certification in a specialty (such as ACNP, ANP, CCNS, FNP) Certificate of fitness from the state of Tennessee (as required by specialty) BLS completed prior to going to the unit/ department and maintained going forward The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents. Department Position Summary: A nurse practitioner or physician assistant is employed by Erlanger Medical Center and is responsible for participating in the diagnosis, treatment and supportive care of patients. The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her clinic. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status. Interpretation of the appropriate information is needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the Nurse Practitioners protocols.
