About the Role:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented NPD Coordinator with Packaging Responsibility to support the development and launch of new products within our FMCG portfolio. This role combines core new product development (NPD) tasks with a focus on designing, testing, and optimising packaging solutions that meet performance, sustainability, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

New Product Development (NPD):

  • Support the end-to-end NPD process, from concept to commercial launch.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, QA, Production, Procurement) to bring new product ideas to life.
  • Maintain and update project documentation, timelines, and product specifications.
  • Conduct factory trials and provide technical support during first production runs.
  • Ensure all products meet internal and external safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Packaging Technology:

  • Lead or support the development of primary and secondary packaging for new and existing products.
  • Work closely with suppliers and packaging manufacturers to source and test new materials.
  • Conduct performance testing on packaging (shelf-life, barrier properties, seal integrity, transport simulation).
  • Ensure packaging designs align with sustainability goals (e.g., recyclability, material reduction).
  • Support artwork development and validation (including regulatory, barcode, and print proof checks).
  • Troubleshoot packaging issues on the production line and recommend improvements.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in NPD, packaging development, or technical roles in FMCG.
  • Understanding of packaging materials and technologies.
  • Familiarity with NPD processes, stage-gate systems, and project management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP and BRC.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) experience or knowledge.
  • Understanding of plastic packaging tax and single use plastic bans.
