- Experience in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma is an advantage, with a focus on improving the quality of Quester Tangent products and services.
Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE:
Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, you will support the operations team in successfully introducing new product designs. You’ll guide the process through conceptual, preliminary, and final design reviews, leading into prototyping, pilot product deliveries, volume production, and optimizing yields.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Provide leadership, direction, and strategic guidance while making operational decisions and analyzing costs and benefits with key stakeholders and partners.
- Drive alignment of new product introduction (NPI) strategies with internal stakeholders and the external customer base. Ensure compliance with NPI phase review guidelines.
- Participate actively in design reviews and provide input on manufacturability, obsolescence management, and future tactics for new electronic circuit designs.
- Maintain and follow up on action plans, and escalate unresolved problems to the appropriate groups.
- Develop documentation to support production, including work instructions, build books, flow charts, procedures, routings, and product labels.
- Be a key player in resolving yield issues.
- Manage product enhancement projects originating from design divisions.
- Raise issues identified during assembly and testing, and track these issues until resolution.
- Collect all hardware and software test reports as part of the first article approval process.
- Monitor audits and review results to identify and coordinate continuous improvement plans to enhance NPI quality and first-time yield.
- Work with engineering NPI teams to develop systematic procedures that ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Implement lean manufacturing within manufacturing operations.
