SUMMARY:

The NRT Product Manager is responsible for acting as a technical resource, particularly sales and marketing, to clearly communicate features, benefits, and competitive advantages while assisting in establishing and nurturing positive relationships with customers. This position actively participates in the overall strategy for all NRT product lines including new product development, product life-cycle, market research, and identification of new market opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably mechanical or electrical), or related technical field
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ product management or business to business sales/support experience with capital equipment, or industrial manufacturing related items.
  • Solid knowledge of and experience in an industrial manufacturing, fabrication environment, preferably a machinery, or systems manufacturer
  • Experience with AI products is helpful
  • Excellent communication skills. Must be able to make technical information clear and impactful to customers and internal team members
  • Effective interpersonal and presentation skills. Ability to interface with a variety of personnel from different disciplines
  • Ability to represent yourself in a professional manner to customers and the business community
  • Must be able to lead in a matrix situation without direct reporting relationships
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Service-oriented and driven; must be an impactful contributor
Responsibilities

OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE

  • Define our capabilities and competitive advantages. Create documentation and presentations to effectively communicate these to sales, marketing, and customers
  • Assess current competitor offerings and seek opportunities for differentiation
  • Analyze customer needs and current market trends
  • Appraise new product ideas and strategize appropriate go-to-market plans

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acts as the central point of contact for product-related technical inquiries from sales, marketing, or customers.
  • Conducts research and competitive analyses to understand customers buying decisions, competitive products, and position and reputation in the market.
  • Maintains and helps create customer-focused product documentation and technical specifications while ensuring the information is well organized and accessible throughout the organization. Ensures information is correct and complete.
  • Participates in the development of a strategic direction for all product lines
  • Researches, understands, and communicates on the key market success drivers in strategic markets
  • Aligns product line features and roadmap with company and customer expectations
  • Builds strong relationships with customers, learning about their business, anticipating their needs, and supplying information to maximize their ROI with our equipment, increasing future new business
  • Collaborates with R&D, Marketing, Sales, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service teams to ensure product line is optimized for profitability and efficiency
  • Works directly with internal teams to ensure proper product introduction and ongoing product life cycle maintenance, including the Manufacturing and Service organizations
  • Monitors and understands total product performance (Financial Performance, Product Functionality & Performance, Warranty Spend, and Lifecycle) using these metrics to drive continuous improvement
  • Conducts product training for sales, marketing, and other internal teams – Service? PM’s?
  • Oversees the neural network team and the development of neural networks for the product line and set the priorities of the team to ensure timelines are met for the equipment commissioning schedule.
  • Complete other duties as assigned
  • Travel up to 25% of the time to customer locations, both domestic and international
