Position Summary: The Nova Scotia Before and After Program (NS BAP) facilitates a seamless day of childcare for children ages 4 - 12 who are attending school. It is a recreation-based program built on the principles of outdoor movement and play, intended to promote healthier and more active children. Childcare before and after the school day also helps build vibrant communities by enabling families to more fully participate in the workforce.
The Team Lead will work at Wolfville School and report directly to the Family Home Childcare Agency Director. This role is responsible for overseeing daily program operations, supervising Support Staff, and liaising with school staff and families to ensure the site runs smoothly, safely, and in alignment with NS BAP standards.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily program operations for up to 30 children.
Plan, implement, and adapt activities based on the NS BAP framework.
Supervise and mentor Support Staff.
Maintain communication with parents and school staff.
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment, including outdoor and active play.
Handle confidential information with discretion.
Lead staff communication and contribute to program evaluation and improvement.
Qualifications:
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Enthusiastic about working with children ages 4 - 12.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
.Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage staff and programming independently.
Experience working with children is an asset.
ECE training or equivalent is an asset.
First Aid & CPR certification required.
Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry Check required.

Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
