This position provides specialist assessment and advice in relation to the ongoing care of consumers with psychiatric disorders who are under the NSW Mental Health Cognitive Impairment Forensic Provisions Act 2020 and/or the NSW Child Protection (Offenders Registration) Act 2000 or are considered to be ‘high risk civil consumers’ based within community and inpatient settings across Northern Sydney Local Health District.
This position is based out of Royal North Shore Hospital and will contribute pro rata to the on-call Staff Specialist roster. The position will work across NSLHD mental health and drug and alcohol services as required.
This care will be provided within the scope of practice endorsed by the NSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee (MDAAC).
The position will provide clinical consultation services within NSLHD and will contribute to the teaching and training of medical students, graduates and other health care professionals and to research, evaluation and quality improvement activities within the District.
