Description
 Rivers Health is seeking a per diem Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Performs a variety of duties in preparing patients for nuclear medicine procedures.  Operates equipment that detects and maps radiopharmaceuticals as they pass through and localize in the patient’s body to create an image on computer and photographic media.  Processes nuclear medicine studies with the aid of computers.  Operates sophisticated equipment to help physicians and other health practitioners diagnose and treat patients.  Takes call as needed.  Leads and directs all employees performing nuclear medicine procedures. Qualifications EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:   Must have satisfactorily completed an AMA approved Nuclear Medicine Program or Radiologic Technologist Program and be able to meet the registry requirements by the ARRT or CNMT.  Radiologic Technologist applying for a nuclear medicine position.  Must meet formal departmental testing and training requirements within 90 days.     WORK EXPERIENCE:   One year in clinical nuclear medicine setting preferred.  Must be CNMT or ARRT (N) eligible.     KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:   Must have knowledge of medical terminology.  Must be able to read and have the ability to work with numerals, decimals and fractions.  Must be able to communicate to patients and physicians effectively.  Must be able to identify and assess the special needs of patients of all ages including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents and geriatrics.  Must be able to effectively communicate with the patients.  Must have good team building skills and be able to effectively guide and direct nuclear medicine technologists.  
Responsibilities
The Nuclear Medicine Technician prepares patients for procedures and operates equipment to create images of radiopharmaceuticals in the patient's body. They also lead and direct other employees performing nuclear medicine procedures.
