Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Western Health is seeking a qualified Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our friendly and motivated team in a full-time permanent role. The Nuclear Medicine service at Western Health is equipped with three SPECT/CT scanners across two campuses (Sunshine and Footscray Hospitals), including a digital CZT SPECT/CT. Exciting new developments are on the horizon, with the opening of a digital PET/CT at the new state-of-the-art Footscray Hospital and a second PET/CT service at Sunshine Hospital opening in 2026. This position offers the opportunity to join our rapidly growing service providing exceptional care to one of the most diverse and fastest-growing communities in Melbourne.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform high-quality diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging and patient care services
  • Supervise and mentor junior technologists and students, supporting their development
  • Adapt imaging protocols as needed based on patient condition and clinical presentation
  • Participate in on-call and quality control programs across multiple campuses
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient-centred care aligned with AHPRA and MRPB guidelines
