POSITION OVERVIEW
The HSHR Coordinator applies a population health and health equity approach and harm reduction principles, to priority population health issues (e.g. STBBI prevention, care and services for people who use drugs). Working within the Population and Public Health framework, the Healthy Sexuality and Harm Reduction Coordinator in collaboration with the Team Manager, Program Specialists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Medical Officers of Health, and others will provide leadership, clinical consultation, education and support to HSHR staff, with a primary focus in the areas of Healthy Sexuality and Harm Reduction. This position will work closely with both direct care and management staff to support program and practice excellence.
The Healthy Sexuality and Harm Reduction program serves a large proportion of clients who are Indigenous. The WRHA recognizes the importance of building an exemplary health care labour force that is inclusive and reflective of the population it serves.
