Active participation in the model of care that integrates quality improvement principles, lean methodology, best practice, advanced technology and patient family centered care. Responsible for promoting organizational mission, vision and values by providing safe quality nursing care to clients. Under the direction of the Public Health Supervision, the immunization Nurse functions within a team of Public Health Practitioners focused on disease prevention through immunizations across the region. These services may be provided in public health centers or public facilities such as malls and schools. Human Resources Exemption: No Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Other Education and Training Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Level C Certificate (CPR) Nursing diploma is acceptable Competencies Basic - Critical thinking skills Basic - Computer skills Intermediate - Communication skills to provide/obtain verbal and/or written opinions/advice Knowledge and Abilities Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Knowledge of medical and surgical supplies Uses independent judgment based on Public Health principles. Knowledge in principles and practices of immunization Knowledge of RPNAS Code of Ethics Ability to communicate with clients from diverse backgrounds Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking High level of accuracy in health assessment, nursing diagnosis and treatment. Must be Available a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours per 3 week period. Must be available all shifts, short shifts, short notice calls, stats and holidays, where applicable.
