They provide direct resident care activities including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, in keeping with the philosophy and policies and procedures of the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The incumbent coordinates and gives functional direction to Licensed Practical Nurses, Continuing Care Aide and Recreational staff positions, each of whom is responsible and accountable for the provision of safe and quality nursing care. He or she may seek direction as needed from the Clinical Manager/designate regarding the resolution of nursing and/or facility issues that occur in the off hours. ***These positions have been created in an effort to proactively recruit staff to the La Ronge Health Centre in advance of operationalizing the new facility. As such, this position will be supernumerary for a period of time and may be floated to other units in accordance with Article 45.01 (a). Human Resources Exemption: No Education * Undergraduate degree or diploma in Nursing Licenses * Registered Nurse (RN) Other Education and Training * Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) Knowledge and Abilities * Must be in good mental health in order to concentrate on direct client care * Advanced Clinical Assessment Skills * Excellent management, leadership, organizational and decision making skills * Demonstrate advanced clinical expertise and initiative * Demonstrate sound judgement * Ability to work in a computerized environment * Has demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills.
