SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will have/will be:

  • Must hold an active registration as Registered General Nurse with the NMBI.
  • Post graduate qualification in an acute nursing setting is desirable
  • One of the following qualifications, or a willingness to work towards qualification for: PMI Dip, CIP, ACII or QFA
  • A general understanding of the Health Insurance Industry
  • Experience of analysing, managing and resolving complex issues and complaints
  • Be a self-starter and willing to act on own initiative
  • Managing a demanding workload with an ability to prioritise effectively
  • Act as part of a team and give full participation and commitment to fellow team members to meet common goals
  • Attention to detail and ability to drive initiatives to successful conclusion
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills – the ability to write comprehensive and clear internal and external correspondence

Responsibilities

KEY ROLE COMPETENCIES INCLUDE:

  • Medical Technical Expertise – applying clinical knowledge to enable good decisions and an ability to seek out the answers when needed
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making – Recognises problems, consults and collaborates with others to resolve issues & ability to work collaboratively with others to deliver the required result
  • Quality, Controls, Governance and Reporting - Identify where existing processes are high- risk, ineffective, inefficient, or cumbersome and escalate, with recommendations to improve.
  • Process & Procedure Governance - Responsibility for Process & Procedure Governance within the Clinical team including Training.

The key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • To support and develop new initiatives in line with our Future of Health strategy, ensuring these initiatives are clinically validated and commercially viable
  • To work closely with established and potential new clinical partners in ensuring all programmes meet both the member and business needs
  • To work with our marketing team to research new propositions from a clinical perspective, ensuring all propositions are in- line with clinical best practice and most up to date guidelines
  • To act as a clinical lead for our Clinical Forum meeting -validation of proposals for consideration by Irish Life Health
  • To continue to drive our Health in the Home service. To work with hospitals, both private and public, to identify patients that are suitable for home discharge to community-based services provided by Irish Life Health’s clinical partners. This would include site visits.
  • Attend relevant internal and external meetings to share information, ideas and problem solving for individual referring units or medical professionals.
  • Development and continual improvement of our patient care pathways
  • Work closely with the clinical review team to share best practice ensuring the best for our customers. To support on clinical review as required.
  • Generate as requested daily/weekly/monthly reports and present updates on individual services both to our team and the wider business.
  • Provide support on non-hospital contracts if and when required.
  • Always represents self in a professional and ethical manner, complying with all applicable company policy and procedures
