Job Purpose Qualification: Graduate; 1st division in 10th, 12th and DIPLOMA/BSc - OT Relevant Experience: 3 + years experience in technical and procedural aspects for effective implementation. Responsibilities To assess, prioritize, plan, implement care in accordance with the anesthesia guidelines. Provide a high standard of care in OT during anesthesia for patients following trusted guidelines and OT standards. Take an active role in establishing and maintaining effective communication with operating team. Ensure that documentation is complete, accurate and legible, and that their relevance is understood. Accept accountability and responsibility for own safe clinical practice. Give and receive reports on patients. Assist in maintaining equipment and stocks and reordering stores when appropriate and ensure that optimum stock levels are always maintained. Understand the legal policy for storage and checking of drugs is strictly adhered to. Ensure that the gas levels are maintained at the appropriate level at all times. Maintain a safe environment for staff and patients within the overall clinical environment. To adhere to departmental policies as laid from time to time and be conversant with such policies. Ensure safe keeping of records and data protection. Demonstrate awareness of financial and budgetary issues. To maintain awareness of current developments in anesthesia. To participate within the departmental teaching programme. To participate within the hospital teaching program. Maintain respect and dignity for all patients regardless of race, colour, creed or their reason for attendance. To be accountable for own safe practice. Act as an effective role model and maintain professional standards when representing department always more particularly within hospital premises. Always conduct himself in a befitting manner to uphold ethics, dignity and respect of the hospital.
