As an experienced practitioner, the Resident Care Coordinator acts in a leadership role to provide specialized clinical expertise, co-ordination of resident care, and support and teaching to the care team (including residents and residents’ families) within a collaborative environment. The incumbent must be able to multitask and be physically able to respond quickly to emergent situations, as he/she is the immediate supervisor on the unit. The routine procedures are generally predetermined but critical thinking and independent judgment is an integral part of the position. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience Experience in teaching adults, facilitation skills, and leading group activities Experience in adult education Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience Experience in case management Requires experience in program/resource development related to needs assessment. Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Other Education and Training Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS) Competencies Interpersonal skills Leadership skills Computer skills Organizational skills Facilitation skills Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge and application of quality improvement principles, tools, and outcomes Ability to apply research to clinical practice Knowledge in learning and teaching principles Ability to integrate clinical knowledge and experience into clinical practice Has demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills.
