Position #: V46580 Expected Start Date: February 16, 2026 Union: SUN Facility: Regina Corporate Office College Avenue City/Town: Regina Department: Digital Health - APP Management 2 Type: Full-time regular FTE: 1 Hours of Work: 8 hours shifts Shift information: Days Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: No Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Nurse B $42.040 to $52.440 Travel Required: Yes Job Description: The Clinical Informatics Specialist position will lead and promote the integration of information technologies and clinical change initiatives that automate and/or enhance evidence based clinical practices, access to patient/client information and clinical documentation via Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems in collaboration with clinical leaders, service and program managers and directors, physicians and staff. As an integral member of the IT team, the Clinical Informatics Specialist would work to increase the effectiveness, efficiency and meaningful use of an EPR system. The role provides clinical subject matter expertise at all stages of the system life cycle, translates clinical requirements, leads teams and contributes to project planning, and implementation schedules. The Clinical Informatics Specialist serves as the liaison between clinical areas and IT, and accurately and promptly analyzes, prioritizes and translates user needs and requests to clinical information systems. This includes facilitating communication amongst end users, identifying and articulating gaps between clinical business processes and systems and facilitates the analysis, design, building and maintenance of clinical content within systems. This position requires an individual with discipline experience and knowledge in existing Acute Care processes, workflows and IT systems. The successful candidate will be applying this expertise to designing, building, testing, training end users, supporting, implementing and stabilizing the functionality of these programs within the Saskatchewan Health Authority - Regina Area. Human Resources Exemption: No Education Requires or in progress towards a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing. Requires current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS). Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Experience: Requires five (5) years recognized clinical experience in an acute care facility. Requires two (2) years working experience as a lead for Allscripts Sunrise Enterprise Clinical Implementations in a health care setting. Requires experience as a Project Manager/Lead for new implementations and/or system administrator for new and ongoing support including demonstrated working knowledge of leading and documenting current state and future state business /work flow design, application design and configuration build based on design sessions in a healthcare setting. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrates the ability to participate in development of programs/resources. Excellent team building skills, listening, coaching, group facilitation and conflict resolution skills. Demonstrates ability to teach and oversee both individuals and larger work groups in the operation, use and functionality available at any given time across the Saskatchewan Health Authority as it relates to the electronic clinical documentation and how the electronic clinical documentation is integrated throughout the entire application . Ability to embrace and champion the process improvement and clinical transformation resulting from the product implementation (lead change and practice direction). Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates ability to collect and analyze data within the scope of clinical practice as it applies to regional research initiatives. Understanding of change management and project management. Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Ability to troubleshoot basic technical problems related to configuration, testing, implementation and processing of a software application. Demonstrates ability to integrate clinical knowledge and experience in the support of the electronic clinical documentation to facilitate best practice principles for multi-disciplinary care providers in the development and ongoing support of the electronic clinical documentation. Demonstrates ability to identify required changes to workflow and/or dataflow processes and work with end users to plan and facilitate implementation of these changes. Demonstrates commitment to continuing professional development. Demonstrates advanced leadership skills and organizational skills. Demonstrates ability to be self-directed in plan and carrying out responsibilities with a minimum of supervision. Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards and application of such. Demonstrates strong understanding of implications to patient safety in development of clinical documentation and processes relating to implementation of this functionality.
