We are currently recruiting for a Bank Nurse to assist in the provision of care and work alongside our care staff to assess the care needs of our residents and provide direct nursing care as and when required.

CARE SKILLS

  1. To be a member of a nursing team led by the sister/charge nurse.
  2. To be the primary nurse or help the primary nurse in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care for a named group of residents.
  3. To contribute to the plan of care, as appropriate in the absence of other primary nurses.
  4. To discuss with the sister/charge nurse all maters concerning the Home’s residents.
  5. To maintain accurate and legible records of care.

ORGANISATIONAL SKILLS

  1. To promote effective communication, liaising with and assisting residents, relatives and all disciplines of staff.
  2. To ensure the utmost economy is exercised in the use of light, heat, stationary and all medical products used within the Home.
  3. To ensure all policies, procedures and guidelines are adhered to and understood by junior staff.
  4. To assist in maintaining the Health and Safety of residents, visitors and fellow members of staff.
  5. To assist where necessary in showing relatives, potential residents and Care Managers around the Home.

EDUCATIONAL SKILLS

  1. To contribute to maintaining a learning environment.
  2. To be prepared to regularly support and supervise junior staff.
  3. To act as a mentor/preceptor where appropriate.
  4. To assist in teaching and training programmes.

SKILLS NEEDED

Establishing Rapport With Clients, Ability to Identify and Anticipate needs, Initiative, Ability to Support Difficult Patients, Medical Qualification, Paperwork and Record Keeping

Responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for the Home’s residents.
  2. To develop and maintain high standards of care reflecting the beliefs about nursing practise outlined in the principles of care.
  3. To contribute to the continuing development of the Home.
  4. To provide cover for the Home in the absence of a fellow member of staff.
