Your Opportunity:
The ICU/CCU Nurse Clinician is responsible for the daily coordination of the interdisciplinary team, and acts as a facilitator and coordinator of workflow within the unit in partnership with the management team and physician leads. This person is expected to satisfy all advanced critical care certifications of a bedside RN within the ICU/CCU, acts as a clinical resource for all staff and is a positive role model. In order to maintain these qualifications, this individual will be expected to work at the bedside when assigned. Key Responsibilities: Directs workflow and delivery of patient care in the unit by: creating daily staffing assignments, assessing workload and augmenting unit staffing in conjunction with the management team and Clerk V, communicating with other care areas to ensure optimal patient flow and transitions. In collaboration with physician, will help facilitate patient care rounds based on the principles of the four-pillars of Patient and Family Centred Care, Collaboration, Innovation and Wellness. Effectively communicates with team to articulate expectations for staff and patients, engaging staff in the promotion of a healthy, respectful and safe practice environment, and provides feedback to Leadership Team. Identifies and resolves issues affecting staff, patients / families utilizing available resources (including management team as indicated). Uses knowledge from clinical practice and continuing education to: act as a role model to build capacity in staff, enhance positive team functioning, and promote quality nursing care. Work closely with CNE and management team to support nursing practice. Promotes accountability of all members of the team.
