Qualifications Job SummaryA Nurse Consultant consults with facilities on the monitoring, recording and reporting of symptoms or changes in patient’s conditions. Supports facilities management by advising and assisting with policies and procedures and assessment support in accordance with all nursing standards of practice, state and federal regulations and guidelines as they relate to pharmaceutical services. Roles and Responsibilities• Consults with facilities on how to administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.• Evaluates the delivery of services to facilities.• Assists management staff in the development of solutions to identified problem areas, which result in immediate and satisfactory response to concerns.• Provides assistance with and consults with facilities and nursing staff on patients' records, medical information, and vital signs as they pertain to pharmaceuticals.• Acts as a “facilitator” to the Executive Director and Director of Health Services.• Facilitates advice, sharing ideas, listening to problems, identifying needs in terms of quality assurance, staff development and role modeling.• Consults with facilities on the monitoring, recording, and reporting of symptoms or changes in patients' conditions as they pertain to pharmaceuticals.• Consults with facility nursing staff on patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.• Monitors medication treatment plans for medications including but not limited to pain and psychotropic medications.• Instructs individuals, families, or other groups on topics such as health education or other topics related to pharmaceuticals.• Maintains accurate, detailed reports and records.• Other duties as assigned. QualificationsEducation: Associate DegreeExperience: 5-8 years Licenses and CertificationsCurrent unencumbered registered nursing license in the state of practice, Valid CPR certification Physical RequirementsSitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, and moving intermittently during working hours. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. Must be able to maintain verbal and written communication with co-workers, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and all business associates outside of the health campus.
Responsibilities
The Nurse Consultant consults with facilities on monitoring and reporting changes in patient conditions and assists management with policies and procedures. They also provide guidance on medication administration and evaluate service delivery to ensure compliance with nursing standards.
