One California Job Summary and Responsibilities Day Full Time Registered Nurse Definitive Observation Mercy San Juan’s Definitive Observation unit is a 23 bed observation unit also referred to as 5North. It is a med tele unit where we manage med surg and telemetry patients and care for tele patients with the exception of post-CABG and sheath pulls. This unit prides itself in its teamwork and friendly hard working staff. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery.Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans. You'll collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team, contributing to a dynamic environment focused on optimal patient outcomes.To be successful in this role, you will possess keen assessment skills, acute critical thinking, and a patient-first mindset, driven by a profound enthusiasm to help others. Assessment: Performs total body and system assessment each shift/visit according to unit standards. Care of Patient: Including planning, implementing, evaluating and educating. Clinical/Technical Skills: Utilizes technology, procedures, protocols, standards and interventions specific to assigned unit. Documentation: Performs legible, timely, concise and accurate documentation according to policies and procedures. Proficient and competent with the computerized documentation system. Leadership: Accepts responsibility and accountability for own decisions and behaviors. Recognizes, accepts and cooperates with direction from facility leadership. Precepting/Mentoring: Participates in orientation of new staff, ancillary personnel and mentors students in a constructive and positive manner. Serves as resource to staff from other nursing departments. Job Requirements Required: Current CA RN licensure 1 year RN experience in an acute care hospital Current AHA BLS and ACLS certification
