The Nurse Educator Generalist plays a critical role in advancing the clinical competence, professional development, and overall performance of staff across Kinwell Health. This position is responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs and initiatives that align with organizational priorities, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based best practices. The Nurse Educator Generalist collaborates closely with clinical leaders, frontline staff, and cross-functional teams to support onboarding, continuing education, competency validation, and quality improvement efforts. They will serve as subject matter expert and internal consultant, ensuring clinical education is effectively integrated into quality, safety, and compliance frameworks.
This role is a hybrid position, with travel to various Kinwell clinics anticipated an average of six to eight days per month. This role will work from one of our clinics three days a week. The Nurse Educator Generalist will be required to live in Washington state by time of hire.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and deliver engaging, evidence-based learning experiences that reflect current clinical practices and meet regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Lead the coordination and facilitation of onboarding, orientation, and ongoing education for nurses and other clinical professionals.
  • Develop and expand leadership development tracks, including preceptor and mentorship programs, to support career progression and skill development.
  • Maintain and enhance systems that assess, validate, and document clinical competencies across disciplines.
  • Work collaboratively with nursing leadership and department heads to identify skill gaps and implement targeted learning strategies.
  • Ensure timely remediation plans and tracking of competency performance outcomes.
  • Act as an internal consultant, providing expertise in educational best practices to managers, preceptors, and educators.
  • Deliver just-in-time training related to new clinical workflows, procedures, or equipment.
  • Support change management and communication strategies during clinical transformation initiatives.
  • Align educational programs with organizational quality and safety goals, accreditation standards, and compliance regulations.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Risk teams to develop frontline education based on audit results, patient safety events, or regulatory findings.
  • Support continuous readiness for external inspections or surveys by maintaining compliant education records and processes.
  • Utilize adult learning principles and established evaluation models to assess the impact of educational initiatives.
  • Analyze performance metrics, learner feedback, and clinical outcomes to improve training design and delivery.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development through innovation, collaboration, and data-informed decision-making.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Active, unrestricted Washington State RN licensure through the Department of Health (DOH)
  • 2 years of experience in clinical education
  • Proficient in adult learning theory, instructional design, clinical education delivery and program evaluation
  • Ability to assess training needs and design effective educational interventions
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills
  • Ability to travel to Kinwell clinics up to six to eight days per month
  • Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS), simulation, and e-learning platforms (e.g. Healthstream)
  • Demonstrated expertise applying design skills to create visually engaging trainings
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and influence without direct authority
  • Familiarity with clinical standards, regulatory bodies and evidence-based practice
  • Commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in healthcare education
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to use data to drive improvements
  • Master’s degree in Nursing Education or a related field (Preferred)
  • Certification or formal training in Lean Six Sigma methodologies (Preferred)
  • Experience in curriculum design and clinical education in a healthcare setting (Preferred)

Working Environment

  • Work is primarily performed in an office setting within a healthcare organization, which may include proximity to patient care areas.
  • The work environment is generally quiet, but may involve some interruptions, high-paced demands and interactions with various departments.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • This role requires the ability to navigate within clinical or administrative areas of a healthcare organization.

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.
National Plus Salary Range:

$99,100.00 - $168,500.00

  • National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska.
