Nurse Educator, RN (Registered Nurse) is responsible for all Staff Development/Resident education programming within the facility with a focus on compliance (i.e. DOH guidelines), infection control/infection prevention, organizational goals, and quality assurance tracking of programs Nurse Educator, RN (Registered Nurse), develops, plans, executes, evaluates, and maintains documentation regarding all educational programs including the new hire orientation program which encompasses acquiring and maintaining educational material Coordinate or conduct New Hire Orientation Nurse Educator, RN (Registered Nurse) plans and delivers continuing education programs including in-service programs to meet educational needs and compliance/requirements for staff (staff development) Nurse Educator, RN (Registered Nurse), provides and/or assists with all emergency training Recommends revisions on policies, procedures, processes, etc. including changes in resident care based on current clinical knowledge and policies and procedures Maintains clinical skills and competence and administers direct nursing care as necessary Provides supplemental nursing supervision as needed and is required to be on the on-call rotation schedule for supervision/nursing administration back-up. Requirements Graduate of an approved school of nursing Licensed & registered in good standing in New York State as an RN Work experience as Nurse Educator, RN, (SNF experienced highly preferred) Ability to make both independent & collaborative decisions that are necessary for providing quality education and nursing care Thorough knowledge of nursing and infection control practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to SNF Organized, detail-oriented, flexible, & dependable Possess a spirit of cooperation & enthusiasm to create/maintain a team oriented and comfortable atmosphere conducive to learning, development, and quality patient care.
