JOB OVERVIEW

Van Buren County Hospital is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Nurse Educator to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced, highly motivated RN who is passionate about clinical education and staff development. The Nurse Educator will provide high-quality training using a variety of teaching methodologies and will collaborate closely with department managers to support staff across the hospital and rural health clinic settings.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current RN license in the State of Iowa (or compact license).
  • BLS, ACLS, and ACLS Instructor certification or willingness and ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate occasional night and weekend training sessions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in nursing education or staff development.
  • Experience as a certified instructor for clinical courses.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver engaging education and training sessions to clinical staff.
  • Partner with department leaders to assess training needs and coordinate ongoing competency validations.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate educational initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote evidence-based practice.
  • Facilitate onboarding education for new hires, including orientation and skills validation.
  • Provide regular in-services, simulations, and skills check-offs across all shifts as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical practices, regulatory changes, and teaching strategies.
