One California Job Summary and Responsibilities Day Per Diem Endoscopy Registered Nurse Our Endoscopy department performs between 350-450 procedures per month. The RN will perform conscious sedation and learn the RN role to assist the physicians during endoscopy procedures (colonoscopies, EGDs, ERCPs, EUS) and bronchoscopies. Assessment: Performs patient assessment for, diagnosis of, intervention for, and evaluation of physical or psychosocial problems or risk for problems that may result from the administration of sedation/analgesia or anesthetic agents during the procedure and immediate post sedation period. Care of Patient: Including planning, implementing, evaluating and educating. Clinical/Technical Skills: Utilizes technology, procedures, protocols, standards and interventions specific to assigned unit. Documentation: Performs legible, timely, concise and accurate documentation according to policies and procedures. Proficient and competent with the computerized documentation system. Leadership: Accepts responsibility and accountability for own decisions and behaviors. Recognizes, accepts and cooperates with direction from facility leadership. Precepting/Mentoring: Participates in orientation of new staff, ancillary personnel and mentors students in a constructive and positive manner. Serves as resource to staff from other nursing departments. Job Requirements Required: Current CA RN licensure 1 year of acute care experience as a Registered Nurse BLS & ACLS from the American Heart Association AHA PALS and Procedural Sedation required within 3 months of hire Weekend coverage and Call required Preferred: Endoscopy and/or critical care setting (ICU, PACU, Procedural, IR) within the last 3 years
