Description Opportunity available for Part Time, 8hr shifts, rotating Eves/Night shifts and EOW The Nurse Supervisor is a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) that practices within the scope of the Illinois Nurse Practice Act to ensure the delivery of comprehensive, high quality, individualized nursing care, based upon knowledge and experience, the nursing process and leadership skills. The Nurse Supervisor incorporates that carative factors of human care and performs established procedures in accordance with the organization’s and the nursing division’s policies, procedures, and standards of care. Adheres to the mission, values and philosophy of CFMC. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develops and sustains an environment that supports excellence in clinical nursing practice and patient care. Resolves issues based on established policies. Exercises sound judgment when dealing with challenging and stressful situations. Supervises clinical and technical aspects of nursing care. Promotes and practices in an environment that fosters two-way communication between staff. Ensures and maintains unit/team, professional, regulatory, accrediting and government standards. Maintains accountability for staffing over assigned 24 hours.Will resolves staffing issues with Nurse Managers. Exercises independent decision making authority in the problem solving/critical thinking. Consults and/or communicates with the Administrative on call for complex issues. Disciplines staff in collaboration with Nurse Manager, Director or Human Resources when necessary. In collaboration with the Public Relations Director, acts as liaison between hospital, community and the news media.
