Regions Hospital has a great opportunity to join our nursing leadership team as an Inpatient Nurse Manager for our South 8 Cardiac Medicine/Progressive Care Unit and work with an incredible team of people who have a passion for caring for others! We are seeking a strategic, proactive, and optimistic leader to work with an incredible team of patient care staff who have a passion for caring for others. Our patient population on South 8 includes patients requiring general medicine or progressive level of care. We care for patients with complex medical needs and co-morbidities, including CHF, NSTEMI, chest pain, coronary artery disease, post-intervention sheath management, COPD, pneumonia or other cardio-respiratory problems, End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), peritoneal dialysis, liver failure, alcohol withdrawal and/or other intoxicants and much more! It’s a great place to learn a wide variety of diseases processes and broaden clinical assessment skills. Our unit has a high number of daily admissions, discharges and transfers. South 8 also houses the remote telemetry cock pit which is staffed by specially trained PCAs who learn cardiac rhythm interpretation. Our nursing team cares for a diverse group of patients with a variety of care needs, and we pride ourselves on making connections with our patients and families to partner together. Under the direction of the Director and Vice President, the Nurse Manager is responsible for directing, planning, coordinating and supervising activities associated with patient care. This includes establishing, maintaining and evaluating standards of care and assuming responsibility for staff development, environmental, human resource and fiscal management. We are known for saving lives in our Level I Trauma Center, and our nursing staff are key to the exceptional care we provide each patient. As a nursing professional you will be empowered to manage your clinical practice and working environment through our Shared Governance Model, which focuses on evidence-based nursing practice. Mostly days Monday-Friday. Requires working into the evening on occasion. 24/7 accountability with ability to take phone calls on off shifts to support patient care issues as needed. Required Qualifications: Education: Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, or AD in Nursing and Baccalaureate degree in a related field, AND Master’s degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Education, Health Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Life Sciences (e.g. Chemistry) OR Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program with an established date of completion. Experience: Four (4) years (8,320 hours) acute care RN experience with two (2) years (4160 hours) in a nursing leadership position, e.g. Assistant Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse. Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota. Demonstrates at the time of employment and every two years thereafter, competency in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
