POSITION SUMMARY

The Nurse Manager is accountable for the management and leadership of a specific nursing unit. This position evaluates available resources and delegates appropriately to assure quality outcomes of care. They also direct and implement the nursing process. This includes systematic data collection, assessment, development of care plan, implementation of care plan and revision of plan. The Nurse Manager manages and supervises the care of residents through a well-defined care delivery system \

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensure & Certification: Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in Minnesota and certified in CPR and emergency care for healthcare providers.
  • Communication & Functional Ability: Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written forms and perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Experience & Education: Experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, or assisted living settings.
  • Core Skills & Traits: Strong multitasking, adaptability, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse environment and accept feedback constructively.
Responsibilities
  • Care Planning & Assessment: Collects resident data through interviews, observations, and record reviews; develops and revises individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Clinical Oversight: Implements care plans, supervises assessments and functional care plans, monitors changes in condition, and ensures nursing care aligns with state and federal regulations.
  • Staff Supervision: Manages and evaluates nursing staff performance, delegates tasks appropriately, provides feedback on unprofessional behavior, and ensures adequate staffing and coverage.
  • Documentation & Communication: Maintains accurate documentation, facilitates physician orders, provides detailed verbal and written reports, and ensures compliance with Medicare and facility policies.
  • Medication Administration: Administers medications accurately, adheres to pharmaceutical protocols, manages controlled substances, and reviews medication sheets for compliance and accuracy.
  • Regulatory & Facility Compliance: Maintains licensure, attends ongoing training, supports a positive work culture, participates in audits and QA initiatives, and stays current on Department of Health regulations.
